Clos des Bruyères
The CLOS DES BRUYERES, originally just a breeder of APPALOOSA horses, was founded in 1988 by Silvia and Patrick Dumont in a small village in Burgundy.
Our passion for American horses and Western riding and due to their extraordinary mentality, we were interested in the various official western shows and then took part in numerous western horse official competitions in France and Europe every year. Hand training of young horses up to breaking in was our specialty at that time and we have won many championship titles, medals and awards with our foals. A special love for the REINING discipline meant that we later switched our breeding program entirely in this direction.
We bought our first Reining fillies in Germany in 1995. Then our Appaloosa stallion BOGIEPLATED JAC, who was multiple international champion and reserve champion in reining classes, confirmed that our choice was the right one.
A second quarter horse stallion, GUNNS N ROZES, directly son out of COLONELS SMOKING GUN aka GUNNER, joined our horses in 2018.
In our sales catalog on this website you will find all of our foals that are offered for sale, whether for competitions or just for leisure.
Le Clos des Bruyères has also been breeding Leonbergers and Belgian Shepherds since it was founded.
The Leonberg is our second passion. We produce strong, loving and socialized puppies with gentle and pleasant characters, some of them from German blood lines, the country of origin of the Leonberger breed.
In 2018 we added two Belgian Shepherd Tervueren females to the dog family. There are also two cats here that seem to feel very comfortable with us.
To date, we only breed pedigree dogs.
You are welcome to visit us here; we are 2 hours away from the Atlantic coast and we also have the option of offering you an overnight stay with us with a bed and breakfirst.
